- With an objective to ensure that every household in the state has internet, video and telephone services at doorstep, by March 2016, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials of fibre grid, Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd (INCAP) to lay 30,000 km of cable network in the state.
- The first phase of Fiber Grid in the state had been taken up at a cost of Rs 333 crore and Andhra Pradesh had the distinction of being the first state to start works on Fiber Grid in the country, he said.
- The CM asked the officials to complete the Fiber Grid works in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts by December and in the remaining 10 districts by March 2016.
