Bihar: Consolidated Goat Development Scheme

Bihar Government has introduced Consolidated Sheep and Goat Scheme to increase the income of backward families and to increase the production of animal protein by providing free distribution of 3 goats (one unit) of advanced breed to SC/ST families or goat keepers.

Selection of Beneficiaries:

  • Woman goat keeper will be given priority.
  • Goat Keepers/ Poor Families (BPL) of SC and ST class selected by District Livestock Breeding Officer are eligible for the benefits under the scheme.

Benefits:

Poor Families living below poverty line/Goat Keepers of SC (Gaya and Samastipur Districts) and ST class (Katihar and Purniya Districts) will be given 3 Black Bengal Breed Goats (one unit) free of cost.
