Google Extends Support to Digital India

  • Google’s new CEO Sundar Pichai in his welcome speech for Indian Prime Minister Narandra Modi said that Google will be the part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India program.
  • He said that the company has identified some initiatives like making products to work on low bandwidth, and even offline, make the web accessible in Indian languages, providing low cost Chrome books to Indian schools and investing in core infrastructure and affordable smartphones with Android .
  • Indian Prime Minister may deliver a speech in San Jose at the end of this week.
