The central government is expected to start a worldwide campaign to project India as a startup friendly investment destination and at the same time has invited proposals from creative organizations. The global campaign will be launched across all platforms of media i.e. print, electronic as well as social and will capture both domestic and international markets.

  • According to an official statement of the Department of Policy and Promotion (DIPP), the basic agenda of this global campaign is to promote India as an entrepreneurial hub and create more opportunities for investment in the country thereby building a cohesive business eco-system. The DIPP also plans to build an interactive portal for the campaign.
  • Simultaneously, DIPP plans to showcase India as a favoured destination for startups thereby working on the path of Startup India. The government is working towards creating helping entrepreneurs by providing a slew of incentives like a Rs. 10,000 crore fund, tax exemptions, relaxed norms for startups to promote ease of doing business. A self-certification scheme was also launched recently to boost startups.
  • The government has also announced a chain of incentives for startups in the Budget like 100% tax exemption up to 3 years as well as Rs. 500 crore fund for SC/ST and women entrepreneurs. DIPP further added that it will work closely on the promotional ground by publishing brochures, pamphlets, posters etc and these will be distributed among investors, venture capitalists, media, industry bodies and high commissions.
