Haryana govt. to set up 41 senior secondary girls schools

Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma has said that the state government has given the permission to establish 41 new government senior secondary girl schools.

  • He also said that 34 schools for girls would be open in Mewat district alone. Other schools those are going to be opened include a military school for girls in Khudana village of Mahendragarh district, 2 schools in Morni Hills, one each in Zainabad and Dhokia of Rewari district, one in Bhiwani city and one in Sonepat city.
  • Sharma further added 32 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and 36 girl hostels will be opened in the educationally backward blocks as well. Under the ambitious ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, ‘Balika Manch’ is established for girls in 5,268 government schools. In over 1,536 government schools, self-defence training is being incorporated in the curriculum of classes IX and X. at the same time, 6 government colleges for girls are going to be established as well.
  • He also said that in every government schools programmes such as Beti Ka Salaam Rashtra Ke Naam, Mera Pehla Gantantra Divas and Kanya Janamohatsav are implemented to salute girls for contributions they make for the society.
