The word Anganwadi means “courtyard shelter” in Indian languages. They were started by the Indian government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Services program to combat child hunger and malnutrition. A typical Anganwadi centre provides basic health care in Indian villages. Gujarat is the first state of India providing an insurance coverage for AWW and AWH. Benefits:
- The nominee of the insured receives an amount of Rs. 50,000 in case of death of the insured and the interest of the money being deposited.
