On Farm Water Management (OFWM) Under NMSA

OFWM will focus primarily on enhancing water use efficiency by promoting efficient on-farm water management technologies and equipment. This will not only focus on application efficiency but, in conjunction with RAD component, also will emphasize on effective harvesting & management of rainwater. Assistance will be extended for adopting water conservation technologies, efficient delivery and distribution systems etc. Emphasis will also be given to manage and equitably distribute the resources of commons by involving the water users associations, etc..

Practices & Assistance under OFWM:

Note-

  1. (*) Upper limit of assistance will be restricted to the amount as per the eligible pattern of assistance of the normative cost of installation.
  2. Maximum permissible assistance will be restricted to 5 ha per beneficiary/group for all the following practices.

1) Micro Irrigation

50% of cost of installation * for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 37200/ ha (average).

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
      II.              Drip Irrigation (Close spaced crops with rows at less than 1.2 meter) 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of cost of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions

 

50% of the cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 90,000/ ha (average).

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
    III.              Micro Sprinkler 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of cost of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions.

 

50% of the cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 58,900/ ha.

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
IV. Mini Sprinkler 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of cost of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions.

 

50% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 85,200/ha.

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
V. Portable Sprinkler 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions.

 

50% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 19,600/ha.

 

Maximum permissible assistance will be as per length of pipe and restricted to 5 ha per beneficiary/group

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
VI. Semi Permanent Irrigation System 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of cost of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions.

 

50% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 36,600/ha.

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
VII. Large Volume Sprinkler Irrigation System (Raingun) 35% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 25% of cost of installation* for others in non-DPAP/DDP/ NE&H regions.

 

50% of cost of installation* for small & marginal farmers and 35% of cost of installation* for others in DPAP/DDP areas and NE & H States.

 

Normative Cost of installation is Rs. 31,600/ha.

 

Additional 10% assistance to be provided by State Govt. to all categories of farmers
VIII.­­­­ Training Programme Rs. 50,000/- per training programme (For 30 participants for a duration of at least 2 -3 days

 

 
       

 

2) On-farm Water Distribution / Application

I) Land leveling, Construction of field channels, sub surface distribution with box outlets

 

50% of cost limited to Rs. 12,000/- per ha.
II) Construction of Secondary Storage Structures with protective fence, Connectivity from canal/perennial source, distributory/outlet, inlet and silt detention structures at feasible locations

 

50% of cost limited to Rs. 100 per cum of storage capacity.

 

Maximum permissible assistance will be restricted to Rs. 2 lakh per beneficiary.

 

3) On-farm Drainage

S. No. Practices Cost Norms & Central Share
I) Support for mechanical, biolog-ical or combination of both systems for improving drainage in waterlogged farm land. Activities like field drains, laterals, connecting drains, refuse/sink, agro-nomic measures etc. would be supported.

 

50% of cost limited to Rs. 25,000 per ha.

 

Maximum permissible assistance will be restricted to Rs. 1 lakh per beneficiary
