Scheme of Training For Fisher Men

Education Training ( Training of Fishermen )
Objectives of the Scheme:
To make all categories of fishermen well equipped with knowledge and techniques of all matters related to fishing such as fishing . fishnet weaving , fish boat operation and repairing, fish seed production and cultivation etc..
Financial involvement of the Scheme:
Department of Fisheries will spend Rs.1250/- on each trainee. Rs. 750/- will be paid as scholarship, an actual conveyance fro the residency to the training centre with a maximum of Rs. 100/- and Nylon thread costing Rs.450 will be provided for weaving practice purpose. The paln is in operation in all the districts of the state.
Training Process And Duration :
Candidates will be selected by a screening committee headed by Chairman of the District Panchayat and consists of two other non official nominated members and one Asst. Director from the Department of Fisheries. Theoretical and Practical Training in all matters as discussed above will be provided to the selected candidates. The training will l provided for 15days.
Active members of Fishermen Co operative societies, Members of Self Help Groups, Beneficiary of Fish farmers development agency, fish seed producers and promoters, people involved in fishing activities, the beneficiary on leasing the fish pond reservoir for fishing.
Amount of Grant
Provision of Rs. 1250/- per trainee.
