Under new housing scheme, DDA plans to construct 13,000 flats

New Delhi:  The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has rolled out its Housing Scheme 2016 in order to provide affordable flats to different categories of people. Under the scheme the authority will construct over 13,000 flats and most of them will be lower-income-group (LIG), Janta and EHS flats.

The DDA has come out with new housing scheme which focuses on providing flats to middle and lower strata of people. The scheme consists of a large number of cancelled or surrendered flats in earlier scheme, the Millenniun Post has quotes an official as saying.

As per officials, a proposal was placed before the authority meeting earlier this year, in which nearly 13,148 flats of different categories were proposed for disposal. It proposed to dispose of 563 under EHS (expandable), 437 under Janta, 398 under MIG and 79 under HIG category.

The LIG flats will be around 28.34 to 52.63 sqm and its price is expected to be between Rs 14.95 lakh and Rs 28.54 lakh. The EHS flats will be of nearly 24.19 to 77.57 sqm and its tentative price is likely to be between Rs 11.76 lakh and Rs 77.57 lakh.

Janta flats will be of around 18.85 to 30.45 sqm and its price will be likely between Rs 6.68 lakh to Rs 15.15 lakh. MIG flats area will be around 64.04 to 109.88 sqm and its price will be Rs 30.23 lakh to Rs Rs 70.07 lakh. The HIG flats will be in between Rs 41.62 lakh to Rs 1.40 crore and its area will be nearly 77.57 to 142.46 sqm.

The localities of flats are across the city mainly in Jasola, Sarita Vihar, Pitampura, Dwarka, Narela, Sukhdev Vihar, Jahangirpuri, Rohini.

The DDA authority will also develop infrastructures like playgrounds, schools, commercial complexes and helath centres among others.
