Empowerment of Women is being practised by the Country. State government also encourages the development and empowerment of women of the state. For this purpose, many welfare schemes are operated by the state. The schemes are enlisted below:
- Grant for Destitute Widows:
- Under this scheme pension of Rs. 800 is given to the women whose age is between 18-60 years. Applicant Women should not have Grandson/Daughter of age more than 20 years and monthly income should not be more than Rs. 1000.
- Gouri Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana:
- NSC of Rs. 50,000 is provided to the girls passing intermediate exam.
- Family income of Rural Families Should not be More than Rs. 15976 and of Urban Families should not be more than Rs. 21206
- Reward on Marriage with Widow:
- On marriage of widow of age less than 35 years, the couple is rewarded with Rs. 11,000 as one tie assistance
- Physically or Mentally Challenged Grant Scheme:
- Grant of Rs. 800 per month is given for sustenance to the women of age group 40-60 years.
- Family income of Rural Families Should not be More than Rs. 15976 and of Urban Families should not be more than Rs. 21206
- Scholarship to General Category Students:
- Scholarship to BPL students of General Category. Assistance is given for higher education in medical, Engineering, Polytechnic, Management etc.
- Legal Assistance to Women Affected from Dowry:
- 400 Per month is given for Legal Aid to the women having monthly income less than Rs. 1000.
- Financial Assistance to Women Affected from Dowry:
- One-Time Financial assistance of Rs. 1000 is given to the women affected from dowry. The FIR for the same must be registered and case should be pending in court.
