Microsoft India will set up Centre of Excellence in Vizag

The state government of Andhra Pradesh on Monday revealed that Microsoft India will soon be setting up a Centre of Excellence in Visakhapatnam as part of its digital insertion project in the state.

Earlier that day, Microsoft CEO Mr. Satya Nadella signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state to offer better cloud technology and strengthen Information and Communication technology in order to better citizen services, measure school dropouts as well as sharpen agrarian issues.

Microsoft will support the state in building three proof-of-concept (POC) solutions in the fields of education, agriculture and e-Citizen services. Also, AP government will make use of Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning and Advanced Visualization lab technology to gather data, predictive analytic and policy planning . This technology in turn will act as a major player in achieving the state’s quest for a sustainable double digit economic growth and bettering public services.

The software giant will also be focusing on raising productivity of the key government departments by providing adequate training to the officials on Microsoft technologies such a Cloud, Mobility and other Microsoft Technology stack.
