Bengaluru schoolgirls develop Sellixo android app

News:

  • Five girl students from Bengaluru, made India proud by becoming world-beaters at the Technovation Challenge 2015 held at San Francisco on June 24, for developing mobile app named Sellixo.
  • Team Pentechan,  all 9th standard students (14 years old), from the New Horizon Public School (NHPS) reached the summit at the global pitch and bagged $10,000.
  • The App stands as a testimony to three pet projects of PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, Digital India and Save the Girl Child initiatives and provides an online marketplace for users to buy and sell dry waste.
  • Sellixo incentivizes roadside shops to properly dispose their dry waste by making the disposal profitable.
