Scheme for Public Transport Upgrade System

We know our State Transportation is not qualified to standards of system therefore a need to enhance our capabilities  bring to the scheme of Public Transport Upgrade System. The scheme will provide  adequate financial support required for upgrading the depleting Public Transport system in their respective states.

Objective:

• To provide financial assistance for use of latest technologies such a GPS / GSM based vehicle tracking system, computerized reservation system, Automatic fare collection system, electronic ticket vending machines, inter-modal fare integration, passenger information system etc.
• To provide financial assistance for preparation of total mobility plan for the entire State.

Operation Year:

The scheme has been made effective from 15.3.2010.

Eligibility:

• The State Transport Undertakings
• Public Private Partnership Organizations
• State Government Bodies entrusted with providing of Public Transport facilities

Benefits:

• Financial assistance to the public transport system.
• Providing GPS/GSM
