Waitlisted tickets will be confirmed under Vikalp scheme

• Waitlisted train tickets will be confirmed under the Indian Railway’s new scheme if passengers choose the option of next alternative train while booking online.
• The alternative train ticket booking scheme will start as pilot project for the trains running between Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu routes from Nov 1.
• In the beginning, the scheme will be available only for these two routes for mail and express trains valid for 6 months.
• As per the scheme, the passengers will have an option while booking their online tickets to choose the next running train in the same route.
• There would be no extra charges for this service.
