Punjab government has launched this scheme to provide financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled Castes in order to complete their education. The value of scholarship has been divided into seven categories such as maintenance allowance, study tours, etc.
Financial assistance:
- Maintenance Charges
Under this scheme, students have been categorized in four groups – the assistance will be higher for the group completing their education in engineering, medical and science subjects and lower for other subjects. The details have been summarized in the table:

- Additional Allowances for Persons with Disabilities
Up to INR 240 per month will be provided to SC students with disabilities.
- Study Tours
A maximum of INR 1600 will be provided for a study tour to each SC students provided that the head of the institutions certifies that this tour is essential for the scholar.
- Thesis typing/Printing Charges
Research scholars will receive INR 1600 on the recommendation of the department head.
- Books allowance
The students completing their course through distance learning will be provided INR 1200 annually besides reimbursement of course fees.
