Financial Assistance to Brackish Water Aquaculture Farms : Goa

Fisheries Department, Goa Govt. has a scheme for its fishermen community that will provide financial assistance to Brackish water aqua farms.

This scheme will have three components

• Financial Assistance and Renovation of Farms
• Financial Assistance for purchase of farming equipments.
• Financial Assistance for purchase of feed.

Objective

• To increase the coastal aquaculture activities through implementation of good management practices.
• To increase in total fish production in the State.
• To revive the aquaculture farms which have stopped operation due to high operational cost.

Eligibility

• The beneficiaries shall be all the registered fish and shrimp farmers.
• Beneficiaries should be small farmers having water spread area of 2 hectares or less.
• Farms owned by farmers should be licensed by Coastal Aquaculture Authority.

Benefits

Financial Assistance and Renovation of Farms

25% subsidy of cost of construction Upto Rs.2.00 lakhs/hectare of which Rs.45,000/- per hectare will be from Central Share.

Financial Assistance for purchase of farming equipments

50% subsidy of the cost up to Rs.1.00 lakh per hectare for all mentioned equipments.

Financial Assistance and Renovation of Farms

25% subsidy on the cost of feed upto Rs. 30000 per crop/hectare for 2 crops in a year.

How to Apply

• Application forms will be available in all the BDO offices.
• Forms completed in all respect will be forwarded to the Directorate of Fisheries through all the concerned BDO Offices.
