The population of indigenous cattle has reached an all time low and urgent measures are required for conservation and development of these indigenous breeds. So, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Department, Haryana, to undertake integrated development of Indigenous breeds of cattles has introduced this Scheme.
Objective
- To encourage the farmers to rear good quality indigenous cattle.
- Identification of top quality germplasm and insemination with quality semen for sustainable genetic improvement.
- Procurement of pedigreed young indigenous bulls (male calves) for further supply in the State/Country.
Eligibility
- A maximum of two animals (cows) per farmer/organization will be eligible for the incentive money under this scheme.
- The milk recording of the cows under the scheme should be done under public view.
Benefits
Cash Incentives at the following rates is proposed to be given to the owners of the recorded cows-
