News:
- Haryana government will promote farmhouses during the annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela next year with a view to attracting Indians and foreigners to the concept of ‘Farm Tourism’.
- At present, 14 farmhouses, located mostly in the National Capital Region and a few along a National Highway, are registered with the Tourism Department under the scheme.
- Besides promoting farmhouses at the annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela, there is a need to upgrade and develop these farmhouses so that TV serials and films can be shot at these picturesque locations that offer a rural ambience.
