MGNREGS wages through mobile phones scheme launched

  • A programme for payment of MGNREGS wages through mobile phones of the beneficiaries was launched at Rampa gram panchayat in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
  • The wages were paid to 360 beneficiaries on Friday through a unique mobile money transfer service called m-pesa with joint effort by telecom major Vodafone and ICICI Bank.
