- The union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu on Monday urged IAS probationers to take up action oriented projects under the Swachh Bharat mission for evolving solutions such as open defecation free towns, 100% municipal solid waste management and rejuvenating parks and similar urban assets.
- Encouraging them to take up such projects, he said that amongst such projects successfully implemented by the IAS probationers, the best three would be awarded cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively and all successful projects would be shared with states and urban local bodies for replication.
- There are currently 170 IAS probationers of the 2014 batch who are undergoing phase-I training in Mussoorie. They will be going to 170 different districts of our country for one-year district training.
