National Child Labour Project by Tamil Nadu Government

  • In Tamil Nadu, National Child Labour Project (NCLP) is functioning in 15 Districts viz., Chennai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Dharmapuri, Erode, Krishnagiri, Kancheepuram, Namakkal, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Trichy, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Vellore and Virudhunagar.
  • In all 10,832 rescued and out of school children are studying in 259 Special Training Centres .
  • So far 98,155 children have been mainstreamed into regular schools from the inception of the NCLP.
  • Stipend of Rs.150/- per month, educational materials, free medical check-up etc, are provided to children supported by NCLP.
