Scheme for Providing Establishment of New Institutions (EDI), Strengthening the Infrastructure for EDI under ATI Scheme

Ministry of Micro,Small &Medium Enterprises,Govt of India has come up with a Scheme for Providing Establishment of New EDIs (Entrepreneurship Development Institute), Strengthening the Infrastructure for EDIs under ATI Scheme.The assistance shall be provided to training institutions in the form of capital grant for creation/strengthening of infrastructure and programme support for conducting entrepreneurship development and skill development programmes.

Objective:

• Promote entrepreneurship culture in India.
• Promote innovation to further strengthen the competitiveness of MSME sector.

Eligibility:

• Any State/Union Territory Government, Training Institutions of MSME and other development agencies can apply for assistance for creation or strengthening of infrastructure.
• For the purpose of grant under this category, an EDI owned and controlled by a State Government / UT would be selected as recommended by the State Government. The selected state level EDI will have to enter into a partnership agreement (or, MOU) with NIMSME to formulate and implement the approved proposal.

Benefits:

The maximum assistance under the scheme to a State level EDI will be restricted to Rs.250 lakh in each case.This grant would be utilised for development of physical infrastructure, equipment, faculty training and development of capability in undertaking studies and research on issues related to MSME sector. This grant would be over and above the grant, if any, received by that institution earlier under the ATI scheme.

Organizations who wish to apply for ssistance for creation or strengthening of infrastructure may send their applications to the Director (EDI), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Udyog Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi 110 107.
