Angamali-Piravom DEMU train flagged off in Kochi

News:

• The first air conditioned Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) is flagged off by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu with an air-conditioned coach.
• DEMU is equipped with comfortable cushion seats and it reduces traffic congestion.
• Prabhu said DEMU would be replaced by Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) temporarily till the renovation work of Harbour Terminus and Old Railway Stations are completed.
• The train is equipped with bio-toilets, fully vestibule, other coaches of DEMU train is provided with bench type cushion seats and large windows with glass shutters.
