The upcoming budget will focus on addressing rural stress, more so it will focus on farmers, generating employment and eradicating poverty and will thoroughly be a people-centric one, said Minister of State for Finance Mr. Jayant Sinha. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will formally unveil the budget on 29th February.
- Sinha also has said that the whole ministry is closely working on the budget which will eradicate poverty, boost the farm sector and will provide employment generation on a massive scale to improve the standard of living for every Indian.
- On the official You Tube channel of the Finance Ministry, Mr. Sinha has also said that the country which is experiencing an entrepreneurial boom, will continue to have growth and economic stability amidst the world’s own sluggish growth.
- The World Bank on its Global Economic Prospects report which was published on 6th January this year said that India will experience an economic growth at a good rate of 7.8% in 2016 and will remain the fastest growing large economy in the world. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the other hand projected India to grow at a modest rate of 7.3% in 2016 and 7.5% in 2017.
- Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley’s budget team consists of Jayant Sinha, Finance Secretary Ratan Watal, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, Disinvestment Secretary Neeraj Gupta and lastly Financial Services Secretary Anjuly Chib Duggal.
