Delhi launches New Incubation Policy to encourage Entrepreneurship

In a bid to promote entrepreneurship among the youth when the whole country is working towards creating a cohesive entrepreneurial ecosystem, Delhi government launched the state’s incubation policy and allocated Rs. 1.5 crore a s seed capital to 6 higher education institutes under the scheme.

  • These selected 6 institutes are namely Ambedkar University, Delhi Technical University, Indira Gandhii Delhi technical University for women, Institute of Information Technology, Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (DU).
  • The policy, duly launched by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia would help in instil entrepreneurial ideas among the youth. He further said that if an individual has a good business idea then he/she would be provided seed money by the state government.
  • He also said that although Indians are running the world’s biggest companies but still “they don’t own them”. So, the state is working towards creating such an environment where youth would not just be job getters but rather be job creators. This incubation policy is thus a major step forward.
