News:
- After two years, the government today hiked the minimum wage for workers by Rs. 23 to Rs. 160 a day from July, 1.
- It’s applicable to all employment verticals irrespective of the workers engaged.
- The decision to revise upwards the National Floor Level Minimum Wage (NFLMW) has been taken in view of the increase in retail inflation for industrial workers.
- National Floor Level Minimum Wage has been revised upwards from the existing Rs. 137 to Rs. 160 per day with effect from July 1, 2015.
