Modernisation of Abattoirs/ Slaughterhouses Scheme: Grant upto Rs. 15 crores

This scheme by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GoI, helps in establishment of modern abattoirs and modernization of existing abattoirs.

Objectives

• Scientific and Hygienic slaughtering of animals.
• Application of modern technology for Slaughter waste management and pollution control.
• More humane treatment of animals.
• Providing better By-product utilisation.
• Safe and hygienic cold store management.
• Providing Forward Linkages for meat/ meat products.

Eligibility

Urban/rural local bodies, Corporations, Federations, Cooperatives, Boards, Private investors, PPPs can avail the benefit of this scheme.

Benefit

• Grant of 50% of Cost of Plant & Machinery, Technical Civil Works in General areas and 75% for difficult terrain areas subject to a maximum of Rs. 15 crores per Abattoir.

How to apply

Rural or Urban Local bodies/ PSUs,Corporates shall submit the form in prescribed manner with required documents and a proposal as given in the Annexure A.
