Telangana to release over Rs 2,000 crore for farm loan waiver

News:

• The Telangana government is set to release Rs 2,050 crore towards the farm loan waiver scheme and had already released Rs 2,045 crore earlier this fiscal year.
• The total amount under the scheme would be Rs 17,500 crore.
• Telangana Finance Minister E Rajender said that revenue receipts achieved for the state till date are up by 95 per cent of the target.
• He said that the contribution sales tax to the overall Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is at 6.61 per cent, thus making it the top position among other states in that category.
