Vizag, Vijayawada metro works entrusted to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation

• The Andhra Pradesh government has entrusted Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada metro rail projects to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said.
• The Union Minister said since the low population of Guntur doesn’t make metro rail feasible, they were planning to have high-speed rail between Guntur and Vijayawada via Amaravati, DMRC has been asked to prepare the DPR for it.
• As for the Visakhapatnam, the cost has been pegged at about Rs. 10,865 crore.
