- Under the “Make in India” initiative new production line for manufacturing currency paper was inaugurated by Finance minister Mr. Arun jaitley at Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. The annual capacity of this production line is 6000 tonnes per annum.
- Another production line will be established in Mysore, Karnataka by the year end which will have a production capacity of 12000 tonnes per annum.
- The combined savings of both these production lines will be around 1500 crores. These projects will reduce the possibility of diversion of paper supplied by foreign countries for the purpose of generating fake currency.
