NHFDC Loan Scheme for Differently abled people to pursue Vocational education and training

Name of the scheme: NHFDC Loan Scheme for Vocational Education and Training for Persons with Disabilities

Purpose:

The scheme aims to provide financial support to eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) who have the minimum educational qualification, as required by the institution/organization running the vocational education or Training course eligible under the scheme.

Nodal agencies: State Channelizing Agencies (SACs) of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), Regional Rural Banks and other NHFDC affiliated institutions.

Age criteria: An individual must be above 18 years of age.

Quantum of Finance:

Need based finance to meet expenses of up to Rs. 2 lakh

Expenses considered for loan:

  • Tuition / course fee
  • Examination / Library / Laboratory fee
  • Caution deposit
  • Purchase of books, equipments and instruments
  • Any other reasonable expenditure found necessary for completion of the course.
  • Boarding Lodging
  • Necessary aids and appliances required for completion of course, on need basis.

Repayment: Up to 7 years after commencement of the repayment
