Coast Guard’s Fast Patrol Vessel ‘Anagh’ & Interceptor Boats Commissioned

  • Enhancing Coast Guard’s capability in ensuring maritime safety and security, a Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) and two interceptor boats were commissioned into the CG’s Eastern fleet on March 29, 2015.
  • ICGS C-430 and C-417 are among 36 interceptor boats being built and inducted into the Coast Guard.

Benefit

  • These ships would enhance Coast Guard’s capability in furthering its mandate of maritime safety and security, environmental protection and coastal security and add more teeth to is existing fleet on the Eastern Sea Board.
  • ICGS Anagh is capable of undertaking multifarious tasks such as surveillance, interdiction, search and rescue, and medical evacuation
